The Average Salaries for Medical Transcription-The Big Plus!

Being a professional in the medical transcription industry is still one of the most highly respected and sought after professions.  With its consistently notorious income potential, today it has risen again to the top in appealing professions!  And along with people entering the field at staggering numbers, the demand for good medical transcriptionists has not waned but has grown right along with newcomers!  In fact, medical transcription has been named by the Department of Labor as one of the professions to have one of the highest growth rate percentages forecasted all the way up to 2018!  While this is great news for the newcomer, the numbers are even better because it has been this way for at least the past thirty or more years and no end is in sight!  The necessity for top-notch medical transcriptionists remains safe and sound!  What you can generate in medical records determines what you can expect to potentially generate in income.

Average salaries for the medical transcription industry and the qualified professional medical transcriptionist are, of course, dependent on the company hiring you; however, with the demand so great the rates are highly competitive and stay within a pretty standard range.  The exception to what you can expect to make being based on the rates of a newcomer versus an experienced medical transcriptionist.  But, once you have started your career, you can quickly and easily move up to the top of the scale with the only hindrance being, naturally, your skills, abilities, and willingness to put forth effort and turn out quality work.  This goes without saying and is true in any field of expertise you would like to work.  The fact that medical transcription is one of the most lucrative would spur you on to achieve the status of excellence as a worker in the field.  The rates of pay you can expect to see generally across the board range from the entry-level lowest of .05 to .06 cents per line (and this is not cut in stone as you could easily start higher – it is mentioned as the lowest) to an average of around .12 cents per line.  There are differences in the way companies count characters and lines, with some paying for spaces and others not and some counting characters and/or words based on different scales (i.e. some companies count 65 characters as a line while others count 72 characters as a line for instance).  However, all are structured to generate the greatest profit for their company as well as for their medical transcriptionists.  Rarely, if ever, do you see “scamming” in the respected field of medical transcription! But be careful.

What this says is that you can probably expect to earn around $14 to $15 per hour for your first six months to a year while you are still in the learning stages with hands-on work (again, this is not set in stone – you could potentially make more).  Again it is important to remember you are paid on quality and quantity and, therefore, you can just about count on writing your own paycheck!  And as if that were not enough in and of itself, you still have the other benefits that go along with this unique profession.  You now have the skills to produce a whopping salary as well as the benefit of working right out of your own home.  The flexibility of this alone is a plus for anyone willing to set aside work time and the discipline to stick to it!  You can and will make yourself irreplaceable in short order with any company for whom you go to work and all companies readily and willingly acknowledge and appreciate your full effort and skills!

Breaking into this profession is not as difficult or intimidating as it may sound.  You simply have to obtain training, which is not difficult or intimidating either!  There are reputable schools, companies, and resources available through the Internet.  If you prefer staying in the comfort of your own home while studying (and many do prefer this as well), you only need to browse through the companies online and choose the one that not only fits your timeframe and pocketbook but also offers what you need to obtain a solid foundation and education in the field.  Premium prices do not always indicate premium products in the medical transcription learning process!  The best medical transcription courses will provide all the basics and fundamentals you will need to educate you sufficiently and ready you for the job at hand!  Certainly, you must find the company offering more for less money and that is absolutely not unrealistic.  There are fantastic deals from reputable and well-known companies who are established and ready to get you going as well as assist you all the way through.  You will want to choose a company who provides experienced mentors and coaches and who are readily available to answer your questions for you.  You may also prefer a self-paced course so you do not feel undue pressure to complete the course and risk not taking it all in as the result of the pressure of rushing.  Different people learn at different rates of speed and have their own methods of absorbing the materials.  This is a good thing and enhances your intake of information! Future MT is one of the places we recommend visiting for more information because the Future MT scam report shows them as a reputable company.

Once you have decided to take the plunge and dive right in, the key to success is right in hand.  With the right company, you do not have to be worried that you cannot learn the material – you can!  You can expect to complete the course in approximately six months with full-time studying and up to a year if you have limited time to devote to your studies.  This is an average and certainly not restrictive of these timeframes!  The bottom line is that it is available to you to start today and can be the key to your success in this new and exciting career!  For more information on how to start today, visit http://www.scribd.com/future%20mt.
